Description

A beautifully renovated two-bedroom town house, combining modern comfort with charming traditional Maltese character. Upon entering, a short hallway leads to a kitchen/breakfast area on one side and a welcoming open-plan living room on the other. The ground floor also includes a small versatile room, ideal for use as a home office, pantry, or storage room, together with a guest toilet. The hallway leads out onto a cosy private yard, currently arranged with a small table and two chairs, creating a pleasant spot for morning coffee or relaxing outdoors. A beautiful stone staircase with wrought-iron banisters leads to the first floor, where there are two spacious bedrooms, both enjoying their own ensuite shower rooms. Continuing upwards, there is a washroom and access to the roof, which offers plenty of space for entertaining, dining outdoors or creating a relaxing rooftop area with views of San Anton Gardens. Throughout the house, you will find traditional patterned Maltese tiles and glimpses of original architectural features that add warmth and character. Although the property has been tastefully renovated, it has retained many of its original Maltese touches and charm, creating a wonderful blend of old and new.

Local Information Balzan

Ħal Balzan is one of the so-called Three Villages, along with neighbouring Ħal Lija and Ħ'Attard, that lie at the heart of Malta. Many wealth families built summer residences here in the early years of the 20th century, and the Three Villages are still considered an exclusive urban area. Lying in the sheltered interior, Ħal Balzan was ideal for fruit growing and is still characterised by walled gardens. The most impressive is at nearby San Anton Palace, built by Grand Master Antoine de Paule in the late 16th century. It is now the official residence of the President of Malta and used for state functions. The gardens, open to the public, are a baroque masterpiece and oasis of green and calm. A stroll through Ħal Balzan's old village core reveals its other architectural gems - from grand villas to old chapels.
